This past year, we've weathered the daunting crises of the pandemic, wealth inequality, and climate change. Nonetheless, we've shown that our collective action has a real impact in people’s lives.
We won $32 million to help tenants struggling with pandemic rent debt and $100 million in new revenue to secure affordable housing. We raised and distributed $4 million in pandemic relief for undocumented families through Undocufund. We rallied hundreds of people in defense of our democracy. We passed protections for the health and safety of app workers. We brought together hundreds of people to create a local plan for climate justice and released a groundbreaking state report on a just transition that will take care of existing workers, create a million new jobs, and provide a historic opportunity to advance racial and economic equity if we organize for good union climate jobs.
As we look ahead to the work of strengthening worker power in the Bay Area – from a just recovery, to affordable housing, to tackling the climate crisis – we must continue investing in each other.
