Join us in honoring Boots Riley, director of breakout film “Sorry to Bother You” at this year’s Jobs with Justice Gala! Boots is a long-time Bay Area radical and rapper, inspiring generations of activists on the dance floor and in the streets.
His widely acclaimed debut film in theaters now, “Sorry to Bother You,”uses music, science fiction and comedy to bring radical politics to a wide audience. Boots is the lead vocalist of funky anti-capitalist group The Coup. He’s organized for racial and economic justice in Oakland since he was a teen and played a prominent role in Occupy Oakland. We are thrilled to honor Boot’s work and contributions to the movement.
